BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER
CONDITIONS,THE HEPHZIBAH MEETINGS IS CANCELLED
FOR JANUARY
It is very regrettable that this has been necessary, but
the speaker Dr Paul Wilkinson was due to travel down from
Lancashire, and also many who regularly attend the meeting
travel considerable distances. Temperatures in Oxfordshire
are forecast to drop to -8/- 9 C over the next two nights,
and the car park is
covered with a foot of snow. The next meeting will be on Friday
evening the 12th of February.
Hephzibah is a meeting open to the public to bring
Bible teaching to those who desire a deeper knowledge and
understanding of God's word.
The meetings are held at Cumnor Village Hall, High Street,
Cumnor, Oxford OX2 9QF, normally at 8 pm on every second Friday
of the month except for the months of August and December.
The meetings are intended to provide stimulating perspectives
on the relevance of what the Bible has to say about future
and present day events in the world, to "make ready a
people prepared for the Lord"
(Luke 1:17).
|
Our speakers come from different ministries to address key
issues, including such subjects as:
- The Jewish roots of the Christian faith
- Biblical prophecy about the future
- The critical role of Israel and the Jewish people in world
events
- The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ
- Jesus in the Old Testament
Hephzibah always aims to present Biblical truth, elaborate on
its context and relate current affairs to that truth and to
associated Biblical prophecy. |
|
The teaching principle adopted is that no man is infallible,
so we rely upon the authority of the Bible, the Word of God,
to confirm the teaching given at all the meetings. We apply
the Biblical principle of "Proving all things; holding
fast to that which is good" ( 1 Thessalonians 5:21).
We encourage all who attend to be like the Bereans who "received
the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily,
to see whether these things were so". Acts 17:11
